Gears of War puts you in a deep and harrowing story of humankinds epic battle for survival against the Locust Horde. The Locust Horde is a nightmarish race of creatures that surface from the bowels of the planet. In this third-person tactical action/horror game, you play the role of a disgraced former war hero named Marcus Fenix. Marcus seeks personal redemption as he leads his fire team against an onslaught of merciless warrior fiends.

If you've actually had the chance to play around with one, be it at E3, CES, or a demo, you know this thing is ahead of its time. Hopefully that doesn't mean it won't get adopted as it usually does. It's up to the dev. community to ensure that the falcon gets the third party support it needs to thrive. If you order one or plan on getting one, make sure to show your friends (you'll be doing that anyways), but be sure to consider actively contributing to the falcon with it's freely available SDK (Software Development Kit).
A comp-sci student coded the Half-Life 2 mod for the falcon in just a weekend, so if you're looking for something to base a project on for class or just for fun, this one is sure to blow them away.(more...)
